Happy Birthday McKenna

I woke up on Friday morning, 5/21 and realized that the past seven years has flown by. I honestly feel as though we brought McKenna home from the hospital just yesterday.

Now she is 7 years old. I don't know if I am mentally prepared for this new development. I am grateful, however, that all McKenna really wanted for her birthday were baby dolls or Barbie's. Oh! Yeah, I forgot.. she wanted shoes with a little heel on them.

Look out Jonathan... get ready for the ride.

May Madness

May is a very busy month of us. We have Jonathan's birthday on the 2nd. Jacob's Graduation from preschool and McKenna's Birthday on the 21st. Not to mention the numerous scheduled soccer games.

Jacob has officially graduated from Preschool and this fall will enter in Kindergarten. When Jacob was asked what he wants to be when he grows up he said....a " Policeman". We are so excited and can not believe how fast the kids are growing. Just one more year and Jonathan can finally drop the graveyard shift.

We were fortunate to have our good friend Anne and Lars attend the ceremony. The kids where especially excited that "Papaw" (J.D.) came all the way from Houston.

This is too funny. Unfortunately for my children they did not inherit the Puerto Rican gene when it comes to dancing. Please watch the video for you enjoyment. My kids love the song BOOM BOOM POW from the Black Eye Peas.

Soccer

I have to admit, Soccer was my favorite this year. I am so happy that most of McKenna's team mates were new to Soccer. Unfortunately, they never won, however, she had fun. Every Thursday was practice and every Saturday she had a game. Some of the teammates consisted of classmates and church friends.

It is sad to say, but we became "Soccer parents". The season is over and we will probably enroll McKenna in the Fall program.

Watch out.. McKenna is ready for the next season!

Spring Time

This March we signed Jacob up for Tee Ball. Jonathan reflected back to his youth and remembered the "Good Times" he had with Tee Ball and later baseball. As some of you may know the weather in Utah for the months of March and April was still very cold.

Our very first game, everyone was wearing winter coats. We never missed a game... Every Tuesday and Thursday, little man Jake participated in Tee Ball. We did not know what we were getting into. Most of the time the kids stood around taking turns trying to catch the ball. They would also take turns standing on bases. However Jacob enjoyed himself specially the wonderful trophy he received at the end of the season..

Jacob's 4th Birthday

On Saturday, March 7th, we celebrated Jacob's 4th Birthday. Originally we planned to take him to Disney Land and unfortunately we ended with both cars in the shop and major car repairs. So we planned a last minute Birthday party.

I was afraid we would have a small gathering. To my amazement we had about 20 kids in our family room. Our huge jumpy bouncy was a big success. I guess I didn't realize that in Utah the parents often have "Drop off" parties.

I so wish our camera was working so I could share pictures. We decided to have a "Dino-Myte" party and our guests ran with the idea and gave Jacob wonderful Dinosaur presents.

It was great to have old and new friends over to celebrate Jacob. It is hard for me to realize that my baby is not a baby anymore. He is a full grown toodler.

Papaw, Jonathan's dad, came down from Houston, TX for his annual Birthday visits. It is wonderful having a Grandparent around for the kids. I think after a week's stay, Papaw was ready to go back home to the peace and quite.

Hazy Days

Well our plan this weekend was to go to Chicago and visit my friend Debbie M and watch her first born, Max, be baptized. The time off requests were taken care of! I stayed up late cleaning the house, washing and ironing clothes, and finally packing for a weekend trip to Chicago.

If you've been in Utah this week, you know we've had some amazing fog for a few days. The local news stations rated our air quality as a code RED. The news announcer said , "If you do not need to go outside then DON'T..".

We spend the better part of Saturday at the airport. The non stop was over booked due to cancellations the previous night. O.K. We'll give Cincinnati a shot... Then the connection from Cincinnati to Chicago was cancelled- Mechanical. Foiled again.

So we tried for Sunday morning. The baptism was taking place at 7pm on Sunday. We figured we try and catch the first two flights in the morning and we would make it in time. Well, you gotta love HAZY DAYS..... All the flights were over sold...

We never made it. We want to let Max know we love him and wish we could be there to witness his baptism however, we are with him in spirit.

Jacob is our baby. He gives the greatest hugs you can think of.

Jacob has a heart of gold. Jacob is always willing to help out when he can. He has an interest in cooking.

Jacob has an attraction to blonde's. He will tell you that Anne is "HIS" girlfriend.

I look at Jacob and I see how loving he is and wish he will stay this way forever.

We are truly blessed with McKenna. She is so loving and I appreciate the songs she carries in her heart...

McKenna is so caring about her classmates and her brother. She is the greatest big sister!

McKenna loves music and too sing. She tells me everyday that she is the newest iCarly or Hannah Montana.

McKenna has lost 6 teeth already and she is in Kindergarten.

After 9 Years of Marriage, our family was Sealed in the Temple for Time and All Eternity. November 13, 2008

We were blessed to have tons of friends in attendance for the sealing. We were informed that our group had to be moved to another room to accommodate all of our guest. What a blessing for us to know that we filled the largest room in the temple with Friends who support and love us.

The kids loved the Temple. It was very difficult getting them to leave.

Debbie Larsen Jensen and her mother MaryJo was so thought full to recreate my wedding bouquet for the Sealing.

McKenna sure did feel like a Bride that day.

Well for some time I've had several friends ask to me to create a blog. If you know me, then you know I love to scrapbook. If your life is like mine, then you too do not have time to create until your hearts desire.

I was sold on blogging because it was explained to me that this is a great way to journal. I can create a blog, print it off and add it to the kids albums.

Yahoo! I was sold. It made sense. Then trying to create a blog for the first time is time consuming. I hope you enjoy the ramblings of full time working mother and full time house wife.

I will try to post pictures and as well as pass along wonderful family stories as they happen.

Dreams and Wishes

When I was little, I loved the weekends and Holidays. During this time we would visit our friends and family. I always wished my kids would grow up hanging out with tons of cousins and their Grandparents. Unfortunately, my wish did not come true, therefore this is the only way we can keep in touch.
